(Sydney, November 23rd 2019): Huawei Australia is proud to announce our involvement as one of the event sponsors of the ARN Women in ICT Awards (WIICTA) that are being held in Sydney today and would like to pass on our very best wishes to all the award nominees.
Now in their eighth year the WIICTA promotes and provides much needed recognition for the professional achievements of women in the local ICT sector.
Many award winners over the last eight years have gone on to become successful leaders in the local ICT industry with the awards also helping to promote greater gender diversity in the ICT workplace.
This year’s awards see some 110 nominees from 65 different organisations nominated for awards – making this the most hotly contested awards in the event’s history.
In particular, Huawei Australia would like to wish the very best of luck to Marilyn Li, Head of Marketing for our Enterprise Business Group, who has been nominated for the Rising Star award for technology vendors.
Jeremy Mitchell, Director of Corporate and Public Affairs at Huawei Australia said:
“Huawei Australia is delighted to be sponsoring the WIICTA, these awards play a very important role in promoting the importance of recognising female talent in the ICT industry.
“For our part at Huawei we are always looking for ways in which we can help support local female talent in the technology industry.
“With that in mind six of the brightest young female STEM students in the country are off to China tomorrow as part of our Seeds for the Future program – hopefully one of them will go on to win a prized WIICTA one day!”
