Huawei CEO encourages Raiders to complete "unfinished business"
[Sydney, October 15th 2020] Huawei Australia CEO Hudson Liu has wished the Canberra Raiders all the very best of luck for their National Rugby League (NRL) Preliminary Final against the Melbourne Storm at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night, encouraging the 2019 NRL Grand Finalists to go one step further in completing last season’s “unfinished business”.
“Everyone at Huawei Australia wants to wish the Raiders our very best for the Preliminary Final against the Storm on Friday night,” Liu said.
“The team went so close to winning the Grand Final in 2019 – a game we believe they deserved to win – so we think there is unfinished business to complete and will all be cheering the Raiders on to another famous victory.”
“The team have always believed in themselves, even when many “experts” didn’t. Their team work and dedication has driven them to this much deserved position at the end of the season. They have faced many challenges during this extraordinary year and took them head on. We are very proud to be part of the Raiders family.”
After nearly a decade Huawei will finish up as major sponsor of the Canberra Raiders at the end of this NRL season – although we will be continuing as a sponsor of the club in 2021.
In March the Raiders moved into their new Huawei Raiders Training Centre in the heart of Canberra, with the move to the state-of-the-art facility that is equipped with Huawei’s world-leading ICT platform enabling the Raiders players to take their training and game preparation to the next level.
“We are very proud that our technology at the Huawei Raiders Training Centre has helped to take the Raiders all the way to this Preliminary Final in what has been a very tough season,” Liu said.
“Hopefully it may even give the team the edge they need to take us all the way to that long awaited Grand Final victory.”
